Works great with my 2018 Ultra Classic. I'm 5'11" and I think that's the perfect distance. I installed it just above the bottom curve of the engine guard. My knees are slightly bent and my feet are on the footboards. for even more flexibility. As others have said although it takes a bit of muscle strength to tighten them properly.You'll either need an extension for the supplied hex wrench or use an 8mm hex and long ratchet on the main clamp bolt.My only gripe so far is that there isn't a real one Detent is there to keep them in the up position.They use spring steel washers on either side of the pivot to provide resistance.As a result I had to tighten the hinge screw a little more than I wanted them to stay on during the ride.The pin lifting and opening angle adjustment is accomplished by two set screws in the pivot assembly nd may vibrate over time. Be sure to take them out and apply some blue Loctite once you find the angle you want. Again, I'm not sure how they'll work over time, but they seem to be working for now. Overall the price seems pretty good for what you get. They're heavy, the chrome looks great, and they don't look cheap. I only gave one star because of the lack of position security and weak hinge tension. I plan on leaving them down unless they're in a tight spot, so I'm prepared to handle that.
