We store butter on the counter for cooking and greasing food. This container is perfect for our use. The container holds 2 packs of oil. It's a little big, so be sure to check the measurements before ordering. The lid fits snugly and the knife stays securely in the lid. The base is dishwasher safe, but the bamboo lid is not. The look is more traditional/rustic than contemporary due to the 'Butter' lettering on the pot along with the ceramic-handled knife on the lid, but suits a transitional kitchen. .
