Most monitors have inputs on the bottom edge, but some (mine for example!) have inputs on the back near the VESA mounting plate. This means that the plate of the Ergotron grip kit covers the entrances. If you're lucky like me, you know the guys from the machine shop who cut a 2" x 3" hole in the back to open the entrances. However, this will certainly void any warranty Ergotron has to offer, so don't take chances with a large wall mounted TV or similar. I modified mine and it works great on my Ergrotron ultra wide curved single arm monitor. The supplied equipment is very extensive; all you need is a Phillips screwdriver. The photos show my plate after my friends made a hole in it. I don't run cables through an Ergotron mount because experience has taught me that cables and input jacks all suffer kinks and twists.
