Review on Cuisinart DLC 8SBCY Custom Processor Brushed by Kenny Sanchez

Unfortunately I'm only giving three stars

Unfortunately I'm only giving three stars as I'm a diehard fan of this brand and own many of their appliances but the quality isn't there. I bought this to replace a very similar but much older Cuisinart (I bought it on sale about 20 years ago). The old one still works but the handle on the bowl is cracked and the little plastic piece that snaps into place to lock the lid is also completely broken. With this new blade, the engine and overall feel are very similar qualitatively. It seems to have good mixing and grinding performance. However, I am very concerned about the plastic fasteners on the lid and the large top of the "pusher" (see photos). There's a piece of white plastic that's soft and brittle to the touch, and two pieces of clear, soft plastic that protrude from the lid's "pusher" and snap into place at the top of the wide opening. These parts are flexible, flimsy and probably won't last 20 years. To be honest I just wanted to swap out the bowl and lid for my old one as the blades and motor are still fine but no matter where I looked the replacement parts just didn't suit me. a little over 100€ so I figured I'd just buy a new one. Mistake. Cuisinart, your current design is worse and I can't recommend it like I used to. I'm just glad I bought the additional product insurance.
