I had a Brother printer for many years that worked very well until the company stopped releasing drivers for the model I had. Discontinuing drivers for models still in use by customers is a sign of disrespect to the customer, so I will never buy a Brother product again. I've been searching and searching for a basic black and white printer that doesn't require a fax or scanner, which is what I already have. So much Wi-Fi only, which I rule out for many reasons. It's amazing how companies make simple printers so unnecessarily complicated. I finally found this Epson which I am very happy with so far. There is no sound, the print quality is excellent and installation is very easy via software download from the website. I love that I can do maintenance right from the printer app. The only disappointment is that it takes a lot longer to print the first copy than other printers I've owned or used. But overall it's solid, reliable and very easy to use. Works great with my MAC.
