Great shoes - for the price and purpose

As I mentioned in the title the shoes are good considering the price and the purpose I intend to use them for. Actually, that's why I bought a second pair. But before you go out and buy anything, let me explain. I mostly wear Nike sneakers. Not only for running, but also for everyday life and for athletics - mostly basketball. The last time I went shopping for shoes, I bought two pairs of Nike Downshifter 6s and a pair of Under Armor sneakers. Under Armor shoes weren't particularly comfortable on court, so they became my everyday shoe. They are decent enough to run in but I have holes in the inner material just from running so I won't be buying this brand again. The Downshifter 6s are really good for playing basketball outdoors on concrete, but the rubber is pretty soft so I was able to go all the way through the tread for each pair in about 9 months. When looking to buy replacements, I looked at the Downshifter 7 and 8, but Nike redesigned them so that I felt the profile and toe box were suitable for running in a straight line on a mostly slick track - and nothing else . That means I'm now looking at new shoes and new brands. When I saw these New Balance shoes at Revain I thought they had the tread and toe protection I'm looking for and decent enough for everyday wear. How do you feel? The insole is soft and cushioned, so it provides support under my arch where I don't need it. The heel is a bit tight due to not being properly curved for my foot (unlike Nike). I haven't really run in them yet, but they were already comfortable enough to walk in, so I was happy to buy a second pair for $25 for everyday wear. I would be careful with athletics though. I just got back from a 10km walk and as soon as I took my feet out of my shoes and went barefoot, my feet hurt between my second and third toes. This has never happened to me with any other shoe I've ever worn. So if you can get them for less than $30 and just use them for everyday use, I recommend them.
