I have a 2018 Jeep Cherokee and we were driving from Kentucky to Florida and needed extra room. The porter held 3 medium sized suitcases, a large beach bag and 2 sunbeds with some extra space for smaller items if required. We rode through a couple of big storms in Alabama and everything stayed dry with no issues. I checked the straps at every gas station and they stayed in place. It took a little more gas than usual, but that was to be expected and it wasn't outrageous. I needed help installing it, but that was more due to my size and build than the complexity of the bag. Someone over 5ft 1 will have no problem installing it on their own. Highly recommended.
