There it smells slightly, probably from the filling, but possibly from the finish. The surface isn't as smooth as I expected - the finish feels thin and there are bumps that I expect will wear away faster with abrasion, e.g. B. when a mouse is moved over it. The pillow underneath is well padded but not as tilted as it looks in the picture and the weight of my very small laptop still pushes it back and deflects it away from me more than I had hoped. On the whole, however, it appears to be a small padded lap table. It's just not quite perfect. Also, if you plan on using a smaller device and a mouse, the surface is so rounded that it doesn't provide good wrist support unless you stretch out quite far forward and then the cable hole gets in the way. Because the base is slightly tilted, it's difficult to turn it so that the top is facing you and the wide side is facing you.
