Works with Echo Dot 2nd Gen

I just connected the Sengled starter pack to the Echo Dot. It was relatively easy if you followed these steps: 1-Connect the Sengled hub to your WiFi router using the provided network cable. (Mine was in my living room) 2-Once the hub lights indicate the hub is plugged in, place the bulbs where you want them. (I replaced two bedside lamps with them.) 3-Make sure the new lightbulbs are BOTH on. 4-Download the Sengled Home app on your smartphone. (Note: You must create an account. Do not use an account to log into Sengled website. Only the account you create in the smartphone app will work! This is VERY IMPORTANT!) 5-Use the app to discover new light bulbs. (I found that I had to move my smartphone from the bedroom to the living room where the router and hub were for this to work. The range issue could be with my phone or with the Sengled hub. I don't know what. ) 6 - After that, after confirming with the app that both indicators are working, you can follow the steps below to add them to your Echo. (Note: Be careful how you name your light. If you speak to Alexa it will use the name in the app. By default my two were named "Bedroom 1" as they are a paired set.) 7- Open the Alexa app 8. Add a new skill and type SengledHome in the search. Add it as a skill with the app login. (Do not use the website login!) 9-Select Discover in the new SengledHome skill app. It finds the lightbulbs with the names you gave them via app10 test and lets Alexa turn them on and off. For example "Alexa contains bedroom 1". Some additional information. I found that in the starter kit these bulbs were already paired, meaning they both worked together. If, like me, you want them to be separate, please follow these additional steps: A-Remove both bulbs from the Sengled smartphone app. B-Select Add a new device item (birb) in the Sengled app C-Select your hub and click Next D. This will trigger the ability to scan the bulbs QR code. Scan the code with the app and name the lightbulb. E-Repeat step D with the second bulb. You should now have 2 separate lightbulb names. F-Make sure Alexa correctly identified them in the skills. If you haven't decided, open and update the names. Enjoy!
