You get what you pay for, but I was still expecting a bit more.
The bolt that secures the pony to the base is not fully recessed and protrudes from the bottom of the base. The quick release mechanism is actually much smaller than it appears on the product photo in the listing. Haven't tried flashing anything with it yet. The base needs to be thicker to allow the head of the bolt to sink fully into it, and there should be a hole in the middle as well as one end in case you want to put it on a chair and hold it with your feet. Extra regular quality stuff for the extra $7 I spent.
