Review on Eviciv Portable Monitor: Touch Screen, Built-In Speakers, 7-Inch Display (1024X600), MDS-702 by Roberto Cruz

I like the video and sound quality, the touchscreen is responsive and works well. I am using Pi4 (version 1.2) with Raspberry Pi OS 5.4 and everything worked without problems. I have one small complaint and that is the only reason I declined the 5th star in the overall rating. First, I should note the "gift" cables that were included. When you use the "Gift" FPC cable together with the "Gift" 3-pin power cable, the connection is clean and easy, saving valuable USB ports. My only complaint is that the connector to connect the FPC cable should have been of better quality. . You can't tell when the connector is unlocked because the locking harness moves very little. I ended up pulling it out completely. The contact space for the ribbon cable is then minimal, which resulted in a poor connection on the first try because the contact end of the cable was not inserted deep enough into the FPC port. By removing the latch harness and squeezing the cable harder I was able to reattach the lock and secure the cable to the board (nice sticky cable feature). This may seem a bit finicky but it was very annoying that it could have been a very easy task had there been a better quality FPC connector/harness and a larger size. Now I can only hope that it never falls off and is not lost. Cool product, very good quality display, full screen, no borders, sharp and bright, touchscreen is responsive and precise, sound is not bad for an onboard device.
