Update: My kid has been using it every day in kindergarten for about 6 months and it is holding up very well. It's thin, so light weight is important. It includes your lunch box, slim binder and book, snack box in the front pocket, water bottle in the side pocket, and smaller items in the top pocket. A lot of kids her age carry their vertical big backpacks. She can walk without bumping her hips with a backpack, and she can easily attach/detach the chest clip by herself. It's hard to choose the right backpack for this age group - it has to be light and comfortable, but still hold a letter. large folder/notebook. I highly recommend it for the 5-6 year old age group. Initial review: (bought another color that is no longer available) I bought the medium one very cheap during a sale for my skinny 5 year old for kindergarten. I love the concept of the horizontal backpack so she can still fit a thin folder on the side but the bag won't sag below her waist like most other large backpacks for small kids. The harness is also shorter to fit children of this age well and when she puts the chest strap on she can walk quite comfortably. It is very light, it has enough pockets etc. We mostly carry a slim folder and lunch box in the main compartment, a snack in the front pocket and a water bottle in the side pocket. Also lip balm and wipes in pocket on top cover. It's only been a month since we started using it daily, but so far we're very happy with the functionality and design. I wouldn't pay 40€ for it, but I still recommend it. We'll see how it holds up.
