Because not all RV outlets can be found at a regular campground, I made my own power strips using these Camco outlets. To plug the house in I had a 30Amp 240 outlet in the garage. Although my RV has a 50A plug it never exceeded the rating of the outlet which was protected by a 30A switch. By purchasing enough 10/4 rubberized wire at a large hardware store, I was able to assemble a power cord that would run from a garage outlet to a bus. Just recently, I had to park my bus at the construction site of my new home, which has a makeshift utility pole. After having an electrician install a 30 amp 4 pin twistlock socket on a pole, I used one of those sockets and a 10/4 rubber wire to connect my RV to the power source. These plastic connectors are not waterproof so if they are exposed to the elements I seal them in a plastic bag to keep them dry.
