We have tested this adapter with a number of items. I connected it to a Windows 10 laptop with a USB-C port and plugged the adapter into my switch's gigabit port. I tested the file download and got a speed of 700 Mbit/s. It really works. The laptop did not need to download drivers, the adapter simply appeared in the list. Plugged it into my USB-C port on my Essential PH-1 Android phone. A new icon has appeared at the top (wired Ethernet assumed). I disabled cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity to be sure I could test the internet connection at my internet speed (50Mbps). I was able to transfer the file (locally, not over the internet) at over 300Mbps, a speed I didn't think my phone could handle. The only other USB-C device I had access to was an old Google Pixel phone. It didn't know anything about connecting to the port, so if you have a Pixel it won't work with that. Don't know current models. I would highly recommend this adapter as it does what it says on the tin. Gigabit speed isn't really emphasized in the description because it really works.
