I wasn't planning on spending that much on a stand. I looked for cheaper alternatives but finally settled on this one. It's rock solid and doesn't move. The RGB option is great, although I only use one color for my setup. The extra USB ports are handy and free up some ports for other things. Haven't used the 3.5 connector yet, but I'm sure it works fine. The only thing that bothered me was the connection between the stand and my computer. I read some reviews about the non-standard and proprietary connector and I was a bit disappointed. I really don't like something like this because of compatibility issues and complicated substitutions. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the stand today to find the connector is a standard SuperSpeed Micro USB. This type of micro USB is standard on all external hard drives I've used. I suspect this cable is required for USB 3.1 ports. For those put off by the potential of yet another cable, don't worry. All in all a very good (but expensive) choice.
