This set is awesome! We started looking for them after our younger kids got hit in the face (several times) with our light and heavy "traditional" frisbees. We remembered them from years ago and thought it was worth a try because you can catch them by grabbing the ring itself or, if all else fails, by putting your hand and arm through the center of the ring . It's certainly challenging enough to keep my husband and I entertained, as well as our athletic thirteen year old boy. Our 10-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter no longer tolerate being hit and enjoy playing with them. We've used them in open fields and they can fly far (almost the length of a school field, depending on who's throwing). If the frisbee pulls left or right, that's easily corrected with a slight bend up or down, or if you forget the instructions, there's one on the frisbee (such a thoughtful design). One of the amazing things is that we can also play dead end with them in a softer "don't hit my car" way. All the children in the neighborhood have already learned to play Frisbee and enjoy playing with it. The children are 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 13 years old and they all do very well. All they do is make sure they hold it and throw it, and then release it in the direction they want. Children either catch it by grabbing the ring, sticking their hand through the hole, or the classic way: chewing on the alligator's mouth with their hands <. We don't have consistent success with the boomerang, so sometimes we use it like a regular frisbee. We must beware of trees, unsuspecting people, free running sporting dogs, rooftops and deep water (they don't swim).
