I usually buy these (not the same brand but the same material) at Walmart, well they ran out so I came to Amazon and they look the same as mine but as me when she opened them they smelled bad like fish so i washed them and after washing they still smelled so i put them back in the washing machine with bleach they no longer smell. but even before I washed them I felt them and they became soft. and they are too soft, i would be surprised if they flaked off a bit like a regular soft rag. not rough to peel off dead skin. So if you want soft, they're fine, but they certainly don't feel like they should.
