Waste of money. waste of time. First of all, they came with instructions that weren't in English. Second, they were difficult to install (perhaps because we didn't have instructions). Third, they DO NOT close softly. Exactly the opposite. They strike. The top of our toy box only weighs about 8 pounds and we installed a hinge on each side. The maximum weight requirement should be easily covered. We have to take them off and send them back for a refund, they are so pathetic.
