This product does NOT contain silicone that will drain or wash off when it rains. I have used this product on the body of my last two cars. Works best with a "grainy" finish but not so well with a smooth finish as some brush strokes can appear if you're not careful. However, it works best with grainy/non-smooth surfaces such as wheel arch liners/trims. I used it to line the wheel arches and door handles on my 2003 Explorer (black) and it came out great. I glued ALL areas around my fairing and trim and just painted them. Two coats are best for a longer lasting satin finish. It takes about a year or more if you leave your car in a garage. I give it 5 stars for the non-smooth finish but only 4 stars for the smooth finish. I am now on my 3rd bottle in the last 2 years.
