Review on Angle grinder Makita GA5030X3, 720 W, 125 mm by Wiktor Czerwiski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality product, I rate this purchase excellent.

The best angle grinder for light work, one-handed work. Whoever considers the lack of constant electronics, soft start, speed controller to be a disadvantage, let him buy ga5040c, but it is naturally more expensive, larger and heavier. The speed controller in such a low-power angle grinder will most likely lead to its death, because. at low speeds, power drops (and it is not great anyway) and engine airflow. USM burns out. I own an analogue from Bosch 9-125s with a speed controller, a longer wire and a declared power of 900 watts and the same weight. But it is less convenient than the ga5030, because the case is oval. Makita is better.

Pros
  • Light, grippy: a round body with ribs is much better than an oval one. The button is easily turned on (not tight, as many write), it is convenient to work with one hand. Simple and reliable: no electronics. The gearbox has 2 ball bearings (not like the competitors bushings or roller bearings), helical teeth = quiet operation. Metal gear cover. Soft rubber wire. Small gearbox. Romanian assembly. 5 discs 0.8 mm included.
Cons
  • Wire 2.5 meters: it was possible to put longer (nitpicking). The black cover on the blue body moved a little (easily removed, see photo)
