I ordered this ladder for two of my cockatiels to replace an old one that was in rough condition. I decided I would throw the old one away as soon as a new ladder turned up, but I stuck with it for several days. Also good. When this immaculate new staircase arrived I wasted no time and placed them on their cage with a carnival topper for them to enjoy. Well, within a minute - no kidding - Peach Fuzzy was chewing on one of the legs. Over the course of several days, huge chunks were devoured from a leg (just one, for some reason it's very special). Another bird, Zim, just sits and watches. Well, it's only been three weeks. A leg is gnawed from about the middle, fell off yesterday. None of the birds have chewed through the crossbars, which are still intact. Can't complain about the cost of the toy but my goodness birds. Can't you chew it for at least a whole month? This is not a product defect. Birds chew on things, and I'd rather spend $6 a month replacing a chew toy than let them find my furniture. It was chewed up more than the other stairs, belonging to the colorful ones. I'm not sure if that means anything or if it's a coincidence, but I can replace it with a light-colored ladder or a plastic ladder if I can find a ladder that size. Too bad the concrete legs don't have concrete legs as well as concrete crossbars. Conclusion: The product is fine, but don't expect longevity if your bird likes to chew.
