Review on πŸ’‘ Silent Performance: BN619 Straight Power 11 750W Fully Modular PSU 80 Plus Gold by Chris Ostby

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Having trouble with a noisy fan and poor soldering quality

I thought the open box would be a good deal for a Gold rated device as I needed something with more power as the 3700x and 2080S are being pushed to the limit Got (550-590w when playing at 4k) my evga 650w gold rating (600w output at 90% efficiency) and i knew it would work in shops and usually decent quality power supplies. I had already ordered this when the Seasonic Focus (750w) became available but due to minor issues with some pre 2019 units I wanted to get some reviews to see if it was worse or better than the Bequiet. To my surprise, the Bequiet is pretty good overall, but it lacks efficiency below 150W-75W and the fan profile was too aggressive than needed to keep it cool. That would be fine since my standby load is 120W and when I'm gaming I turn on my speakers/headphones so I can't hear the fan, but a couple of the reviews that picked it apart mentioned pretty poor soldering quality , especially considering the brand/manufacturer/rating. Therefore, unless the tgis is under $100, look for either the Thermaltake GF1 or the Corsair RMx series. Reviews for the device you want or get one from the Prime range.
