I used this conditioner and leather cleaner on Cadillac shoes and boots when I lived in the Detroit area. Cadillac shoes are based in Detroit and I used them when I lived there but I kind of forgot until I saw them on Revain. It was like meeting an old friend. I wanted a lotion that would help me renew and repair my skin on a 100+ year old Mission style rocker. The rocking chair is made from solid oak with a leather seat and back. The leather upholstery is nailed to the backrest and around the seat and secured with decorative brass nails. This is a very comfortable rocking chair and nobody else makes furniture of this quality. That rocking chair was my father's pride and joy. Unfortunately it spent many years in a garage in Michigan before we came to Texas and then a few years in a warehouse here in Houston. When we were ready to bring it indoors, I first cleaned and restored the surfaces. on the tree. Then I needed something to restore the skin and the Cadillac lotion did the job perfectly. I applied several coats and used a soft toothbrush to apply the lotion to the piping around the brass nails and in some tight spots around the seat for the skin to absorb. After he seemed to have absorbed everything, I polished the skin. I am more than happy with how the leather (and the whole chair) turned out. The seat is smooth and supple, and the bracket looks like it has been carefully cared for over the past 100 years. I left my nails alone. They have a nice patina and I am happy with how they look. So does the chair look like new? No, it is over 100 years old and very well used. However, it is very handsome. It looks like a lot of love and that's what I wanted to achieve. There was much use and neglect to overcome, but now it's a price in our office. It reminds me so much of my father. This is a wonderful, comfortable rocking chair to sit in and read a book. It is well on its way to surviving another 100 years.
