Review on Pedigree Chopped Ground Dinner Chicken Dogs and Food by Heather Richards

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very unusual canned dog food

About a year later I found out that my 45 pound outdoor dog was burying bits of this pedigree strain deep in the yard to come back to later, lord knows in what condition. When Ruby was younger she could eat big chunks of "bricks" right out of the can, but of course as I got older I started breaking it up more for her and always adding some wet food. Then she suddenly stopped eating it, leaving it so that after a couple of hours I would find maggot eggs on it, and therefore I generally refused this food. A few months later I tried wet food again as usual and the pedigree disappeared again like she was about to eat it again. No, one day my daughter found a dog digging a hole in the yard and eating huge old chunks of this food which she apparently buried in the hole, one of many. It happened again and again! I relented and let my daughter take home the pedigree for her dog and lo and behold THIS dog is now half eat half hide/store and stray just like my dog (they are unrelated and different breeds and ages). This is the weirdest food I've ever seen out of a can. I now feed Ruby Cesar dry food (very small pieces) mixed with store bought gravy. No more mortar than buried treasure!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Not all fit
