Review on 🐠 Marineland Multi-Stage C-530 Canister Filter: Easy Maintenance for 100-150-Gallon Aquariums, 530 GPH Efficiency by Erin Bowers

This review does not reflect Marineland in any way. I have been involved with Marineland for quite some time and have great respect for them and their products. I currently have 2 of their C 360 canister filters running on a 60 gallon cichlid tank also made by Marineland. They run fine, no problems. I bought this canister filter because I wanted to upgrade to a larger filter as I have plans for a bigger tank. The external filter arrived today (October 7th, 2015) and I was (at first) very surprised and pleased with its size. He's really big. The problem arose when unpacking. As I said, I've been involved with Marineland for quite some time. When I opened the external filter, I noticed that the bio-rings were NOT in the bags as usual if I had previously bought filters from them. They were spread out in the top bowl. Then I noticed that the bioballoons were NOT in bags like they used to be. I found this odd and immediately thought that this filter is NOT new even though it is advertised as new. So I assembled and connected the filter. Water immediately started pouring out of the filter and splashing everywhere. Everything got wet. Water flowed from above and down the sides. So I unplugged it, took it apart and put it back together and the same thing started all over again. I was very angry. I don't blame Marineland, and I certainly don't blame Revane. I blame the seller of this filter because I have NEVER had a problem with any Marineland product. Honestly, I don't think this filter was new. I believe this filter was either used or refurbished and advertised as new on Revain. The filter is advertised at $169.99 plus tax, bringing the price to around $180. Do not be fooled. It is advertised as cheap and you will regret buying it. This filter will be available again tomorrow (10/8/2015). Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY THIS FILTER FROM THIS SELLER. You will regret it.
