Review on Smart watch Garmin Forerunner 35, blue by Micha Ambroziak ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value for money, I recommend it.

They were bought for a child as the first sports watch, he went with an honor band. A year later, the child grew up to a decent polar, and these passed to me. I am not an athlete myself, sometimes I ski or bike. From the "wow" after the bracelet - this is garmin connect. Program and site with data from the clock and their processing. No ads, everything is beautiful and convenient, tracks with a map, speeds, altitudes, pulse, in general, everything that can be pulled out. You can transfer workout data to strava and count calories in myfitnesspal, but they are paid or tormented by ads. Of course, there are a lot of settings, but you can figure it out. There are no complaints about GPS. Batteries last for a long time, but the indicator is strange, it takes half in 2 days, and the rest lasts more than a week. Cons described above. In principle, all of them are not very significant, only "hang" is annoying. It happens that suddenly it beeps that the pulse is lower than it should be, for example 75. Like a fool, you press to add load, but it does not grow. At the same time, he does not write any errors or something else, just such a pulse. Until you realize that this is a glitch, a lot of time can pass. At me it is treated by simple shift on a hand. It is not very clear why they honestly do not write that they cannot count the pulse, but continue to count nonsense. In general, I liked the watch very much, in my opinion the price is certainly too high, but there is no choice. The simplest polars with gps will be even more expensive, and Chinese fitness bracelets do not have GPS and such advanced programs. I recommend it as the first sports watch if you have already grown out of fitness bracelets or if you don’t need anything other than the basic parameters (track, pulse, calories).

Pros
  • Simple and reliable sports watch. Very comfortable strap. The LCD screen is always on. Pairs with garmin connect and it with strava and myfitnesspal. A good heart rate monitor for a watch.
Cons
  • Sometimes the heart rate monitor "freezes", it helps to simply move the watch on the arm. With a constant connection to the phone, activity data is transmitted only at the moment of completion, if the phone is not available at that moment, then the watch itself will not transmit anything. It is not clear why not to transfer the data as soon as the connection appeared. If you walk around the apartment without a phone, constantly chirping something is lost, then you find a bluetooth connection, annoying. The same with the default heart rate zones, if you select one, it will constantly beep when you exit it, even for a couple of seconds for a couple of units, and this is not configurable in any way. You have to set wider boundaries in advance and look at the indicator of the middle zone (the signal cannot be adjusted using it). According to the signals, it is impossible to understand what he wants to say there, it would be possible to separate, for example, signals about SMS, going beyond the border of the pulse and the distance traveled. And so every time you have to look at the clock. In summer, when running, this is not difficult, but in winter, skiing or in a jacket on a bicycle is not very convenient. Despite the fact that the watch is simple, there are a lot of settings, I just put it on and ran it doesn’t work, you have to delve into the settings and study the instructions, otherwise they will be tormented by incomprehensible messages.
