I have a 20.5" hips and a 33" waist. The LARGE SIZE is almost perfect with a few small folds of extra material (extra room). Wash once and they're perfect! Run 10 miles cross country in a new, unwashed pair. They've held up very well. The thicker ribbed waistband is great because it prevents mine Nylon/poly shorts slipping down while running. My camel back started leaking while running and I'm glad I wore them instead of cotton underwear. Cotton would hold water and hold weight. 11km soaked, dried quickly after the run and was ready to go home.
