Replica of original test report - title. The old reverse osmosis had a pH of 6.1 and after I turned on this unit it went to 9.3 which I find incredible. The old reverse osmosis was 5ppm and now it's 25ppm. Eddyboy (below) is right; The pH only goes up for any amount of water that was in the filter, so the first cup performed excellently. Test it after the filter is emptied and filled with reverse osmosis water and the pH is the same as before 6.1. These filters work, but only for the amount of water that is in the filter for a certain time. I was fooled into thinking that all the water going through the filter would have the same pH as the first cup or two. All of these types of filters work the same way, so I've now included a transparent filter with calcite and corosex that slowly dissolves in water and is suitable for any water particle that gets through it. The pH is currently above 10 and will remain above 10 as long as the media is kept in the filter. I wasted money on these filters which are great for 1 glass of water every few hours. All those fancy filters with all stages are only good for the amount of water that is in that filter for at least an hour. So if you fill a gallon pitcher, you'll end up with 12 ounces of pH balanced water and the rest with the same acidity as before.
