The knife came out of the box less sharp than expected, but that doesn't bother me. In fact, I was excited to sharpen it with my whetstones. I personally don't use it but my wife does as she is a chef and I'm just a fan of sharpening. It will hold a sharp blade but don't expect it to last long as it depends on how you use it. The only thing I didn't like when inspecting it out of the box was that it was dusty along the handle and had some sort of glue around the edge. I hope that the people responsible for quality control can get some feedback to make the knife cleaner and nicer. Please make the black pen pure black.
