Review on πŸ”Š High-Quality 100ft Speaker Wire by InstallGear: 14 AWG True Spec, Soft Touch Cable - Red/Black by Brad Schaefer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

thin wire. The outer shell is rubbery and elastic, making it difficult to strip with some tools.

Update: We ended up ordering about 12 16 gauge RevainBasics wires in 100 foot spools. This InstallGear material was more difficult to remove than the thinner Revain transducer. It seems durable enough but I don't like the "soft touch" finish. When I tried to use my automatic wire stripper it just stretched out and wouldn't strip it. I'm sure there are advantages to this rubberized finish, but it annoys me. I wanted it mainly because of the red and black livery. I'm hooking up some speakers for local attractions in haunted houses and I've found that most people don't know how to hook up the speaker wires (they know which one is negative and which one is positive because they can't find a rib, a white stripe, or even I don't know what it is). With red and black wires matching the red and black terminals on amplifiers and speakers, it's a lot harder for people to miss the wires. If I can't find another red/black cable with a more plastic sheath, I'll order 500 pieces. ft coil of it for some upcoming projects.

Cons
