The main reason I bought it was because my 2014 Jetta had a check engine light and I'm on a tight budget right now so I can't afford to take my car to the dealer because we it's all crazy numbers now that they make up. I connected the scanner to my car, then downloaded the app and in less than 5 minutes my phone displayed all the information about my car including fault codes, diagnostics, different types of temperatures and the condition of your car in general. I was able to find out that one of my engine's radiators was not running at full speed so my engine temp was erratic, I fixed it myself and the engine light went away. Fix it yourself (if you know how) or take it to a cheaper place.
