Works well with my Samsung Galaxy S10+ in a case. No problem taking photos with the remote after looking at the camera settings on my phone - make sure the option is enabled/selected to use the volume button to take pictures. Also set up my Canon DSLR with a 50mm lens to test the strength of the tripod. He held the camera lightly. However, make sure the legs are completely apart or they will slip until they straighten. No problem with bent legs and holding the DSLR and no falling. The tripod legs feel solid and hold up well when I attach them to random things around my house with my phone on them.
