The best part about this product is that you DO NOT need to drill any holes in the roof. I used 3M's Marine 5200 adhesive and after curing it becomes permanent. I have sold my old RV and removed the solar panels but the legs are still with the bus so the next buyer will be a step ahead if they decide to add a solar panel. I'll be installing my new legs in a few days and plan to use the same process. For the first time I put my feet on the RV roof where I wanted to. I placed the solar panel on legs to ensure perfect spacing and positioning. I then used painters tape to mark the sides of the legs, removed the solar panel and set it aside. Then I lifted each leg individually and applied glue, replacing each leg in the taped area. After all four elements were complete, I reinserted the solar panel into the legs to ensure a perfect fit and add weight during the curing process. After curing I used self tapping screws to attach the plate to the legs. Everything else was just as easy.
