Youtuber recommended this for hooking up a portable washing machine to a kitchen sink. I've been using it for a while now and haven't had any problems. I like being able to easily switch the water from regular use to our washing machine without fiddling with a wrench every time. If you plan on removing the open end I'd recommend writing yourself a reminder to make sure you turn it back on when you're done (this is from personal experience after water flooded my counter lol) .
