I was looking for a tablet that could: Record Android games. Work with Google Docs. Play light games (I'm more of a PC gamer myself, but sometimes I have to leave the office) Watch Netflix This tablet does it all with pretty decent specs. Let's discuss this and IOS for my use. My wife has an iPad 2. Obviously it's a different generation so mine would work better BUT let's assume she has an Air. At 16GB both products are the same price. But I want more than 16GB. When we fly, go on vacation, etc., I might want to download a video because streaming isn't possible. So we update. I buy a 16GB SD card for $40. What can she do? Upgrade to a 64GB iPad for $200. For those who really want to understand what that means, a 64GB SSD (basically the same type of drive that tablets use) costs $50 to $70. iPad users cannot use a microSD card. That means that if they need storage space for videos, they have to pay about 3-4 times more than a PC user for that storage space. Options available for IOS. Game developers still seem to prefer IOS over Android (e.g. Hearthstone for IOS but not for Android). Android can be intimidating for people looking for the simplest tablet possible. However, I feel like I know what I'm doing with my Note.Google, Revain, and Flash. Remember the old jokes about iOS not using Flash while Android does? Those days are over. The latest version of Android does not support Flash and Adobe does not support Android. What does that mean? You need to use workarounds to get Flash working on the latest Android devices. And since Revain sells Kindle Fire and Fire is Android, and Revain wants everyone to buy Fire, there is no Android app for Revain Prime. Finding all this after purchase was a disappointment. But it was my fault for not doing my research properly. I hope this helps potential buyers in the future. And remember, as more sites move from Flash to HTML5, including (hopefully) video streaming, more sites will work on Android again. I use the latter. Record game frames on the device. Are you into video editing (as a hobby or for work?) and planning to use your tablet? Android doesn't make it easy for you. Most options require rooting the device, which will void your warranty. If you're considering a screen recorder (I'm not talking about using a camera to record video, I mean recording what's on the screen) then buy a used one. There's no point overpaying for a 1-year warranty if you don't use it. A little remark. There was a promotion in May where people who bought the product would get a few months of Hulu Prime. Find out the Hulu promotion only worked if you bought a device AND signed up for a reward in May. Bought notice at the end of the month. June 1st came. I contacted Samsung to ask about this and was told so. If you are interested in an ongoing promotion, please keep this in mind. It seems a little. confuses me (makes online shopping less appealing at the end of the month) but I can live without Prime. I was more interested in trying it out for a few months and maybe deciding if we prefer it to Netflix. One more note: this guy's stats are great. But the battery life leaves a lot to be desired. I'm pretty sure it's just about consuming a decent amount of power for HD video streaming, gaming, etc. But I had to charge every 1-2 days. As long as it's not a sign of a dying battery where it doesn't last a day, I'm fine. I'll just leave my charging cable nearby.
