Review on APEC MEM ES 50 Membrane Replacement Reverse by Tyler Markham
It works, but who makes the membrane?
Not sure if this is a Hydron or Filmtech filter but my previous membrane that came with my APEC system was a Hydron and only lasted 18 months. After installing a new one, the TDS of my reverse osmosis water went from 400 to 80. The source water is 1500 TDS, so the rejection rate is very good with this membrane. The diaphragm housing was too narrow from the factory. I had to remove the body and put it in a vise to unscrew the gap with an 18" pipe wrench. The APEC kit also does not include replacement o-rings for the diaphragm housing. Why the hell not for what they charge for? One star off for non-removable case O-rings (see photo).
