Review on 🔒 3M Black Scotch Extreme Fasteners - 10ft x 1 inch by Shantel Griffin

Whilst it didn't work for me it appears to be a good heavy duty fastening material that should work well in the applications it was designed for . . Sticking to rubber doesn't seem to be one of them. I was trying to use this to attach a thick rubber tailgate mat to my F150 truck's aluminum tailgate, avoiding drilling holes and using sheet metal screws. So I cut 10 feet of tape and stuck it in key locations on the tailgate and another 10 feet on the rubber mat, which was far more than was needed to support the weight. The tape stuck too well to the tailgate but not to the rubber mat. As soon as the tailgate closes, the adhesive detaches from the mat and the mat simply falls off. He just couldn't hold on to the mat, and then the fun began with removing the tape from the tailgate. When they say forever, they're not kidding. It took me an hour of careful use of a plastic scraper and plenty of WD40 to loosen the glue. I like the product but a more detailed description making clear which surfaces I should NOT use it on would save me time and money.
