Review on πŸ”½ Lutron Caseta PD-FSQN-IV Ivory Ceiling Fan Speed Control Switch: Smart Home Compatible with Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant by Robert Goodlow

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Almost perfect, with a small error in the wiring.

We've all been waiting for this thing that looks like the Middle-earth Age. We agonized over alternative control schemes, even tried a few, and many of us eventually chose to use things like simple Caseta on/off switches and rely on the chain to change speeds. Then this beauty appeared. It connected directly to the Bridge in the Lutron app, worked instantly in HomeKit, and Alexa found it with no issues. So what's the "miss" here? For some reason, Lutron chose to use the line entry as a side screw/back lift configuration rather than providing one line labeled "Line" and labeling the other line "Load". Folks, you've been flawless before. A small problem, but why stop if you don't have to?

Pros
  • MOST CONNECTED: Caseta connects to more leading smart home devices like Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant, Ring, Serena Shades and Sonos than any other smart lighting control brand (smart bridge required)
Cons
  • Good, but not great
