I use a Wayne Utility pump to pump water out of my rainwater harvesting system. The water either goes into a hose that I use to water shrubs, flowers, and trees, or into a small rotating sprinkler. I believe a set of wheels will last about 2 years which I think is acceptable. I made sure there was mesh on the inlet side to filter out larger debris that could damage the impeller. Replacing the impellers is easy and only takes a few minutes. My first and original impeller was damaged when it ingested a few "mosquito bits" which I placed in rainwater tanks to keep mosquitoes from entering and multiplying. Hence the use of a finer mesh on the inlet hose.
