Review on πŸ”Œ Enhanced HDMI Cable Clamp for SmallRig Fuji X-H1 and X-T2 Cage 2156 by William Gildea

Revainrating 3 out of 5

TWO PROBLEMS. for video cable

First of all, I'm a big fan of Smallrig. We have used many of their other products (cages, grips, rails) and they have always had nothing but great experiences, but this little thing has two glaring flaws: 1. You can't take the X-H1 out of the frame without first attaching the outer frame accessories remove (due to the slope of the HDMI cover on the X-H1). Each time you want to remove/install the camera from the cage, you will need a flathead screwdriver, the included hex key, two hex head screws and small washers.2. The design of this clip hides the USB port on the case, making the port completely unusable as a modem. I would recommend using the standard plastic part that comes with the X-H1. It is more functional/quicker to install. Whether you use this solely for video production and keep the camera caged all the time OR you have time before the client arrives to install it each time, it gets the job done perfectly and feels a lot more durable than that Standard plastic part. You win something, you lose something I guess.

Pros
  • β–Ά HDMI connector protection: Provides strain relief for the HDMI cable if frequent pulling can damage the HDMI connector on the camera.
Cons
  • No power
