This helmet is awesome! I read positive reviews but was skeptical because there are people who ride bikes and there are "cyclists". Sure, this helmet might be fine for someone who commutes to and from work every day, but what if my average speed in a group ride or in race conditions is 40km/h or more? Well, for those of you wondering, I'm a category 1 road cyclist doing 8,000 miles a year and after 4 rides with a pair if so I've fallen in love. It's amazing. I've basically only used the intercom setup when I was cycling with friends and it completely changed the experience. We can just talk the whole time instead of briefly swapping side-by-side until a car drives by or the road conditions change. We constantly commented on how good the range felt and how well it handled wind and road noise. How good could you ask? Well, with the cat ears on our belts, we could still communicate on city streets at over 40 mph. Sure, cat ears don't look right so the snobbish street racing scene can't take them in, but without them we might still be able to communicate normally if we need to, but hearing each other is pretty bad after around 17mph. Still fully operational in 50+ mph racing conditions, but you need to yell a simple 1 word message instead of babbling about the last weekend. Radio is technically only allowed at USAC P1/2 races, but I'm so excited that we'll try it at some 1/2/3 races next spring anyway. Should be fun! The battery life is incredible. Better than advertised. I used it on a 208 mile gravel bike ride and it played a book on tape from my phone for about 8 hours in very cold weather, it never charged and still had enough charge for a 2.5 hour intercom meeting next Saturday. .Is that aero? Of course I haven't seen any wind tunnel testing, but it's probably decently aerodynamic, like many less snazzy helmets, probably due to the limited ventilation. draft? Restricted compared to a helmet like Giro Synthesizer or specialized dodge. sound quality? It's a $126 helmet with built-in mics and speakers! It's amazing for the price, but not for $1,000. Build Quality of the Helmet: Appears to be very well made. Compared to most other bike helmets, the leather strap is a bit surprising and a bit negative. You can't just cut a leather strap like you can with nylon straps when figuring out how long you want. Should we also wear sunglasses under the straps, not about how you "should" weight? It's significantly heavier than $250 racing helmets, but surprisingly not by much. You can tell it's a bit heavier, but I don't think that would make a difference on anything other than the craziest hill climbs. About 150 grams heavier than the S-Works Evade II, I'm not mistaken (maybe!). This product is a must-have for any group that enjoys driving together, or anyone who wants to listen to music or books while driving. Highly recommended!
