Review on Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm πŸ“· f/1.8G Lens: Exceptional Image Quality and Versatility by Aashit Aashit ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An ideal product for any type of consumer.

I use on D5100 I like this lens. For this price, a very good result. Aperture f1.8 - f2.2 is only suitable for close-up portraits. If to the waist, it is better to clamp it. I would buy a 35mm lens for myself. If you decide to buy a polarizing or ultraviolet filter, then I do not recommend saving. I bought a SUNPAK polarizer. it lathers the picture terribly. and the photos turned out to be spoiled. I recommend this lens for purchase.! S. P. before buying in a store, make a lot on the table to determine the front and back focus . For a "portrait" this is very critical .

Pros
  • + sharp at f2 to f9 + background blur picture + light + compact + autofocus (in good light) + quiet + 58 mm filter diameter. (not expensive) + fine-tuning autofocus manually without switching the button.
Cons
  • = viewfinder small difficult to hit the target when shooting wide open. = recessed lens if you do not put on a filter, then it is hard to clean from dust. = If the lens hood is worn in the stowed position, manual focus cannot be performed. - autofocus prowling in the dark. - HA are present on the open aperture - f9 to f16 soapy images.
