Doesn't work with GCFI (protected) but can be retrofitted

I bought this because I have a closet on the way to my bathroom outlet and I needed a 90 degree angle to fit everything to connect inside. Unfortunately I was sad to discover that these outlets do not work with the GCFI outlets in the bathroom/kitchen but work fine with my other non-GCFI outlets. GCFI outlets are short-circuit and fail-safe outlets that 'open' and 'break' the circuit to protect the user from electrical shock. You can see them in bathrooms and kitchens - places that are often exposed to water and have "test" and "reset" buttons. The ground pin on the bottom is too close to the other pins because the GCFI outputs are further apart. I was very disappointed that they didn't work, but since they were only $7 I decided to cut them open and see if I could change them. . Luckily I found that the ground pin isn't connected to anything, it's just for stability! I was able to hack the outlet and found the inside very simple. I removed the last pin, drilled a small hole and epoxyed it in place. Now my socket fits perfectly! It's pretty easy to do and anyone with the basic tools can do it too. You don't actually need the last pin, but without it the adapter wobbles when you use the lower outputs.
