Most magneto ignition lawn mower engines do not have an RPM signal to connect. I tried wrapping the wire around the ignition wire. it didn't work for me. The pictures in the hookup guide looked like a connection to a stator sensor. I didn't understand how to do this, so I didn't try. I tried connecting the disconnect cable to another Samdo digital speedometer. I connected the cable and it turned off the engine. In the end I found that the first block was defective, either through my fault or the fault of the manufacturer. The aftermarket unit I bought did everything I wanted it to do. Like it a lot. For me, I got the RPM indication signal from the kill switch connecting wire. I have yet to find out if the speeds are correct. I also added a 21 ohm resistor to the fuel wire to keep it from flickering. (my engine doesn't have a fuel gauge) Bottom line, the device works as I hoped it would. Thank you Robert
