Review on ๐Ÿ’ช Strong and Versatile: Stanley Hardware S825 695 Handrail Bracket - The Perfect Support for Sturdy Handrails by Corey Krull

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well made, strong, easy to install, use 5 instead of 4 (on a standard 12ft rail)

Inexpensive, but very strong, and finish looks good. Has a slight sheen (clear finish) but nothing flashy - looks great. I believe you need at least one every 4 feet to be compliant. Most people only use four on a standard indoor staircase (12 to 13 foot railing) - 1 at the top, 1 or 2 in the middle, 1 at the bottom of the staircase. For less than $10 each you can add a 4th or 5th and make the railing much stronger/secure. 1 up and 1 down (about 6 inches from the ends), 1 1/4 up, 1 in the middle and 1 3/4 up. If you don't have locking bolts in these locations, you can choose 5 bolt locations following this general idea. It doesn't take long to add a 5th mount and you'll enjoy increased strength and durability. brackets. The first is 6 inches from the end, then one every 3 feet leaving four 3 foot gaps, and then 6 inches from the top bracket to the end at the top of the stair. Very durable, very satisfied.

Pros
  • Rail should not extend more than 24" past end of bracket
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
