Perfect for me but not for heavy use

Simple style, neat appearance, one screw in the wall. Excellent matte finish. If your household pulls your railing down or pulls hard on it, I think they will bite your drywall since it's hollow on the back of the round mounting surface. I don't care about my family.

Pros
  • National Hardware Authorized Replacement Part no. N332-825
Cons
  • Price piggy bank

Durable and looks great!

I installed this on an indoor stair railing over a year ago. It's pretty durable and still looks great. Notice that you see a Phillips screw head in the center. They include a matching large screw to hold them firmly against the stud. The benefit of this design is that if you initially loosely mount the brackets on the wall, you can rotate the corner to match the railing. Install the handrails, then tighten the brackets. I installed four, but three would probably have been enough since theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • One-piece, one-screw design for quick and easy installation
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Inexpensive, but very strong, and finish looks good. Has a slight sheen (clear finish) but nothing flashy - looks great. I believe you need at least one every 4 feet to be compliant. Most people only use four on a standard indoor staircase (12 to 13 foot railing) - 1 at the top, 1 or 2 in the middle, 1 at the bottom of the staircase. For less than $10 each you can add a 4th or 5th and make the railing much stronger/secure. 1 up and 1 down (about 6 inches from the ends), 1 1/4 up, 1 in theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Rail should not extend more than 24" past end of bracket
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
