Review on Enhanced Magnetic Leveling Alignment Solution for Improved Resistance by Brandon Mcvey

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good but not as advertised

You can't see a "Spot" target at 100ft except in the dark (when you can't see what it is). Run 40 feet outdoors in daylight on a flat black metal target. You also can't see the "line" at 40 feet outdoors in daylight on the same target. Maybe 12-15 feet. All it takes to be the best product is the best LASER and GLASS lenses. A type that uses 3 x 1.5V DC button batteries instead of the two AAA batteries this one uses. Replacing such a pointer costs only a few dollars. For a reasonable price, it does what I wanted, which is to see a point laser 30 feet from my sawmill to make sure the two rails are parallel and flat. This is certainly not a very high level, but is generally sufficient for picture hanging or cornices (where it is used indoors in low light at distances shorter than 100ft and 40ft). The magnet and the corner grooves are very useful details. It probably isn't reliable enough for outdoor use either, but the flashlight should be a good indication that it's not a top-of-the-line device. Who needs a flashlight with a highly visible laser level in broad daylight? Who would try to set peaks/valleys or parallels in the dark with a tiny flashlight and a laser pointer? Tool sets and rulers and sliding plastic lenses.
