DeWalt drill set has an (to me) annoying bit set. His drills increase in 16 increments, from 3/16 to 1/2, except DeWalt decided to load the set with three [that's right, three] 1/4" drills and the 7/16 drill I'd love to hear DeWalt explain how they came up with this lineup.Anyway, for masonry drills I think it makes more sense to use an extra large bit than two extra 1/4" bits. Exposed concrete and concrete blocks are commonly found in the basement or garage where, in my experience at least, items attached to walls or floors typically require stronger and larger anchors than, say, picture frames and other items attached to drywall Concrete blocks or walls, including blue Tapscon screws, do not use 1/4" bits. If DeWalt is so convinced that everyone needs that many 1/4" drill bits, are they selling 1/4" drill bits in packs of two or three? They don't exist, at least not on Revane. I haven't used 1/4 bits before, but I could have used the missing 7/16, especially since the 1/2" bit that came with the kit swings enough to drill a hole larger than 1/2". inch in concrete to drill .block. As a result, the anchors I use, which require a 1/2" hole, hang completely loose in the hole drilled with the 1/2" DeWalt bit. I have to use a workaround by driving a nail next to the anchor so the anchor doesn't rotate when I try to insert the lag screw. I have to think about returning the set.
