Ironing is not my favorite activity so anything that helps speed up the process is a welcome solution. The smell was very strong when the product was opened, but very well ventilated for the first 24 hours. The heat from the iron released a little odor, but it wasn't a strong odor and didn't seem to transfer to the clothes. The thickness of the filling is great; I don't see my board's waffle design on clothing. The cover fit my standard full-size (54 inch) ironing board perfectly and was easy to put on; it was done in less than 30 seconds. I ironed the garment I was ironing and no heavy pressing/pressure was required. I think due to the quality of the heat reflection and the thickness of the pad I felt it reduced the ironing time by at least 1/3 and I don't get tired of more All in all this is a great product and it works as described. The design is pleasant. It's a keeper!
