Only one star off as the soft flooring is not removable. A quick brush will work, but can add some felt or fleece if it's dirty. We used this for a trip from Michigan to Rhode Island. My cat was born during the pandemic so isn't used to people but we put her in for city walks and she doesn't get nervous which is pretty amazing. The shoulder strap is easier to put on over the chest and also supports the bottom. I tried the backpack once but forgot to move the side strap hooks down to make it work, but I had a really hard time taking it off myself (again, that's my fault). The bag is good, I would have liked 2 pockets so I could put a water bottle as well as snacks, a bowl and a grocery bag. She's tried scratching her exit a couple of times but she didn't do any damage, but I pulled her out so she wouldn't scratch too much. The good thing is that the top is fully open, and it's a lot easier to get it that way than the front door. A pull-out apartment is also good. She appears to be a bit petite, maybe 8 pounds, with enough room to move and sit.
